Storage VMotion of a machine on the same ESX Server

CASE: We had set up a local environment with 1 ESX server. therefore we used local storage for the VM’s. Expansion and the request for DRS and HA brought us to 3 ESX servers and a W2K8 Storage Server as iSCSI SAN. Now we needed to bring the Virtual Machines from local storage to shared storage. This is how I did it: 1) download and install remote Command Line Interface (RCLI) 2) run this code: C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware VI Remote CLI\bin> svmotion.pl –interactive Entering interactive mode. All other options and environment variables will be ignored. Enter the VirtualCenter service url you

Scripted change of calendar permissions

CASE 1: an existing Exchange user (mailbox) needs to be accessible for other users. This can be the ‘Inbox’ , ‘Calendar’ or other folders. For this case, go to BLOG DECEMBER 2008 CASE 2: we have a new user in our group and the rights for his/her mailbox settings have to be same as for another user. In this case go for EXPORT & IMPORT PERMISSIONS CASE 3: the policy about the rights on all personnel calendar permissions change. Everyone has to be “Author” instead of “Reviewer”. Windows Server 2008 could not be activated by phone

CASE: in our training center there was a training planned for Microsoft Small Business Server 2008. For this training (called a MOC) we received several virtual machines on the Hyper-V platform. 2 x Windows Vista, 1 W2K3 SBS R2, 1 W2K8 Std, 2 W2K8 SBS. All these servers needed to be activated. ISSUE; it’s obvious that his activation could not be done through the internet but by phone (releasing all those servers on our environment would be a laugh). When trying to activate by phone we got the message that it was not a valid license. When we attach the
