My London Tech Week – 2 ducks in a row

I love London. Well, I like spending time in the UK in general anyhow but London is still a special place. Maybe it’s because it’s the only place in the world where I actually use public transportation (the Underground) without the feeling I need to kill people. If it wasn’t so ridiculously expensive I’d spend a lot more time there or even move. TECH.UNPLUGGED – April 22nd So no need to say I like going back whenever I have a reason. This time I have two! First of all I will be speaking at TECH.UNPLUGGED on april 22nd. Tech.Unplugged is

So now you’re a vExpert?

aToday you’ll see plenty of blogposts about the vExpert 2015 nominations. I am proud to say I’ve got a hat-trick now, being recognized as one for the 3rd year in a row. Instead of just dancing around with the certificate in your/my hand, I urge you to now be grateful with that piece of paper and go do something with it! Go earn another one. But as you already know how to do that, here’s my message to your employer! You are a Startup I think if you are a startup in the VMware realm, you should have at least

Belgian VMUG is 20!

Well now, we are at number 20. It’s a small country and VMUGs used to be equally small over here. But as the VMware community grows, the events grow as well. Last year one of our biggest events was the VMUG #17, bloggers edition. But this year, this event will go beyond that; we have even more and bigger international speakers, we are continuously working on bringing in real use case speaking slots with locals and there will be a ton of networking before and after the event. Guest Speakers We are very very proud to announce as our keynote speaker mr.

Are you ready for the Flash

As promised at the last #VMUGbe (#17) I did deliver a session for the latest #VMUGbe (#18) november 9th. Although I did switch to ‘the dark side’ in between now, I do try to keep up with some independent storage talk. One of the things I have been involved with this year, partially due to the Storage Tech Field Day 1 trip, is flash storage. What is it, who are they, what are the differences.  Click on the image for the entire slide deck Part 1: Basics of storage placement, from DRAM to Cloud tape. The advantages of fast and close

VMUGbe #17 – bloggers edition

Last friday (june 1st) VMUGbe went big! For the first time we had +150  people attending. #VMUGbe went through some changes lately: Erik Schils, VMUG leader of Belgium finally joined twitter (VMUGbe) and we became part of the VMUG.com . For the ones that don’t know how this works: every VMUG is is free to chose between staying independent (like VMUGnl still is!) or joining the global .COM community. The (dis)advantages are obvious. For a smaller community like ours being part of a bigger organisation is definitely going to help us grow faster. For VMUGs that are big enough on their own, the
