A New Challenge

Prologue Today I started a new challenge. It’s quite fair to say this could count as the start of the IV-th episode of my career. The first episode was a couple of years in the graphical industry as DTP-operator and Project leader in a Signage company. The second episode would be where I entered the IT world, working for VARs (value added reseller) as Systems Engineer, Implementation Consultant and TeamLead. In episode III, I primarily created technical marketing content or represented vendors at events. Be Social and Share:

Belgian Tech Startup Scene Accelerates

Belgium you say? Technology you say? Sorry, couldn’t resist to add a small note of sarcasm. You probably remember my rant of just a few weeks ago where the Brussels/Belgian/Flemish governments were resistant to new forms of commerce and technology (Uber/AirBnB). On the other hand one of the better export products Belgium has is knowledge economy. What? PureStorage closes yet another round!

Waaw, just … waaw. PureStorage just closed another round of no less than $225 million. Amplidata – Object storage well done

A few weeks ago I visited Amplidata together with my friend Howard Marks (@DeepStorageNet). Amplidata is one of the very few Belgian companies that are a true Storage Vendor and it is the only one that has realized this with Venture Capital from ‘the Valley’ (ie Intel). So if people from the Valley are willing to invest money in a Belgian company it might be worth having a look. When Howard told me he’d visit Belgium for a project there I had no reason not to join 🙂 What is Object Storage: I personally categorize storage in 4 main areas:
